Social, Ethics and Governance

This chapter contains all topics that ensure the social and ethical integrity, transparency, and accountability of our company.

Code of Conduct (COC)

We have adopted the Code of Conduct developed by ZVEI (German Electro and Digital Industry Association), which is to be regarded as the benchmark for our industry. We guarantee that we fulfil the broad and extensive requirements of this document.

Human Rights and Labour

The requirements of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) conventions are decisive for us in safeguarding human rights. We commit to complying with the requirements regarding the prohibition of child labour and forced labour, freedom of association and collective bargaining and the promotion of diversity and equal opportunities.

Diversity, equity & inclusion

We encourage equal opportunities and do not tolerate discrimination. We treat all people equally regardless of gender, age, skin colour, ethnic origin, sexual identity and orientation, disability, religious affiliation, worldview, or other personal attributes.

Information Security and Cyber Security

The protective and secure handling of information is an essential prerequisite for our success, because the trust of all business partners in KROHNE is closely linked to this handling. This includes especially our products that are developed, maintained and documented with a “Security by Design” mindset, orientated at IEC 62443 and other relevant standards. By following this approach, we are able to integrate relevant security concerns in our products timely. Our modern IT-infrastructure enables and facilitates all related activities.

As a globally active company, we are committed to complying with various legal regulations for the protection of personal data worldwide.

As a prerequisite for this, we have set up an information security management system, appointed an information security officer and developed various (topic-specific) policies that build the framework for our internal processes and serve as one cornerstone to meet overall corporate strategy.

Corruption, Bribery, Money Laundering

We do not tolerate corruption, bribery or blackmail.

Gifts made with the intention of influencing business decisions, or which could give the appearance of doing so or to obtain some other undue advantages are neither promised, offered, granted, requested nor accepted in our business relationships.

We comply with our legal obligations to prevent money laundering and do not participate in transactions that serve to disguise or integrate criminal or illegally acquired assets.

Our employees receive regular training on KROHNE's COC including anti-corruption, anti-bribery and gift policies.

Export Control

We undertake to comply with legal standards relevant to export controls - including but not limited to applicable embargoes and Dual-Use-Regulations - in the course of shipping and exporting our goods. KROHNE has established a corporate Export Compliance Policy that includes a Corporate Export Control Officer as well as Local Export Control Officers at each production site.

Whistleblowing and Grievance

KROHNE is committed to fostering a culture of openness, accountability, honesty and integrity. In line with this commitment, we do not tolerate misconduct, inappropriate behaviour, non-compliance with laws or wrongdoing by our employees and stakeholders in the course of their work.

Through our internal "Whistleblowing and Grievance” procedure", all KROHNE employees are aware of the importance of preventing and eliminating unethical or illegal behaviour. For all whistleblowing concerns, including those from third parties, we have set up the e-mail address corporate.whistleblowing(at)krohne.com enabling secure and anonymous reporting.
