Typical metering systems can have an impressive metering skid with piping, instrumentation and valves. The brain of the metering system is however the supervisory control system that is usually installed in the safe area control room. Metering control cabinets include items such as flow computers, Supervisory PCs, PLCs, UPS systems, barriers, switches and fuses. For large installations all equipment in the metering control cabinet can be installed in a fully redundant mode, with flow computers in standby or hot-standby.
KROHNE supplies supervisory control cabinets as a major part of the delivery of a new flow metering system or for upgrades to existing systems where the metering control cabinet would be connected to existing field instrumentation. It is starting with a functional design specification, through detailed design, manufacturing and testing, up to commissioning in the field and training of the operators.
